General FAQ

Pilates is a method of alignment-based strength and conditioning that focuses on breathing techniques, controlled movement, learning to move from your center, creating a mind body connection, and moving with precision and flow. Whether you choose a One-on-One or a Group experience, we emphasize these principles in every visit.
-
At Reforming Foundations, we focus on the movement and use the equipment as a tool to help you feel your body, rather than focusing on using the equipment to devise a standardized workout.
We use all the Pilates apparatus and many more fun props to rig-up every possible configuration to customize each exercise to your body. Pilates equipment is brilliantly designed and modified to create both the support and resistance you need to feel exercises correctly for your unique body. We like to say the equipment creates an ideal “environment” for your body to feel challenged without the strain.
Our skilled instructors understand how each and every Pilates exercise differs on each piece of equipment and what muscle and movement connections you’ll feel on each. One machine isn’t “harder” than another if it is used correctly.
Sometimes, lighter springs are more challenging because there is less resistance. This requires you to control the movement with your deepest stabilizing muscles. Your instructor will provide suggestions for spring settings for each exercise. The springs help you feel smooth, controlled movement and they provide feedback about your body’s positioning in space, and they’re ideal for helping you feel correct form as you move.
Not every exercise will be slow, but they should always be smooth and controlled from beginning to end. Nothing should hurt or feel straining.

Pilates is one of the best forms of movement you can do before and after having a baby. It is a safe and powerful way to target your pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles while gaining hip mobility. Pilates is easily adjustable so you can practice throughout your entire pregnancy. While we highly recommend individual Pilates practice during your pregnancy you may continue in classes during your first trimester. Feeling great and want to keep moving in classes? Awesome! Schedule your complimentary prenatal Pilates one on one session to learn some key modifications and movement guidelines so you can safely continue in classes during your second trimester. Once you get to your third trimester we’d love to help you prepare your body for labor and delivery and we recommend individualized sessions tailored just for you!

-
Wash your hands as you arrive and after practice. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the studio. Please use disinfectant provided at cleaning stations to sanitize your equipment and props after every session or class.
-
In Pilates we focus on breathwork. In order to breathe freely, RF is scent free. Please refrain from wearing any perfume, cologne, or scented lotion. Please also maintain good hygiene and refrain from smoking cigarettes or marijuana before entering the studio. We strive to maintain an environment where our clients can work on their breath and learn to breathe freely.
-
Athletic clothing and sticky socks are required. No out door shoes, jeans, zippers, or buttons are permitted as these can damage the vinyl. Light clothing, swimsuit, or a robe is required for the Infrared Sauna.
-
For the safety of all members and guests, no personal technology devices (cell phones, headphones, Air Pods, tablets, or similar technology) are permitted in class. All cell phones must be on silent mode and properly stored away during your class or session. All wearable technology must be set to “Do Not Disturb” prior to starting your class or session.

If you have an unlimited membership, you may be charged a $45 no-show fee.
For individual sessions and duets, your instructor will wait 15 minutes for your arrival. Your session will end at the scheduled time, regardless of when the session begins. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may forfeit your membership or package session.
We recommend arriving 10 minutes prior to the start of your class or session to allow you time to park, enter, use the restroom, and prepare for class.

Cancellations within this 24-hour window will result in a late cancellation penalty. Late cancellations will result in a forfeiture of your class or appointment. If you have an unlimited membership, your credit card on file will be automatically charged a $25 fee.

In the event a class is full, try the waitlist!
When a spot in the class becomes available, an SMS will be automatically sent to everyone who is on the waitlist. It is your responsibility to cancel your reservation if you can no longer make it to avoid cancellation penalties.

We believe that Pilates can benefit individuals of all ages, and we are happy to share this practice with families who value a healthy and active lifestyle. To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, we have implemented the following policy:
Guests and members are not allowed to leave children unattended in the lobby while taking a class.
We welcome children of all ages to participate in a session when accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
Children must be 13 years of age to participate in a class.
Children 16-17 years of age can participate in a class or session without a parent present provided their parent or legal guardian has signed the required studio paperwork.
We are happy to work with you to find the best Pilates class for you and your child. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

We welcome individuals of all ages, including children, to experience the many benefits of using an infrared sauna. While it’s important to note that children must have adult supervision and approval from their pediatrician before using the sauna, we believe that with the proper guidance, it can be a safe and enjoyable experience for them. That’s why we’ve implemented a policy that prioritizes the safety and well-being of our young clients while still allowing them to enjoy the many benefits of infrared sauna therapy.
To ensure the safety and well-being of our young clients, we have implemented the following policy:
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied in the sauna by a parent or guardian at all times while using the infrared sauna.
Prior to using the sauna, the child must receive approval from their pediatrician.
The sauna temperature should be set at a lower level to avoid any potential discomfort or overheating for the child.
The child should remain hydrated before, during, and after using the sauna.
The sauna session should be limited to 10-15 minutes and should be monitored by the accompanying adult.
The child should be encouraged to listen to their body and stop the session immediately if they feel uncomfortable or unwell.
We believe in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all our clients, including children, and we hope that this policy provides peace of mind for parents and guardians who wish to enjoy the benefits of infrared sauna with their children.
